    3D Camera Scaling

The Camera Scaling Mode setting can found in the 3D Specific section of the Immersive Manager Settings. It provides two options for how cameras should be configured (rotation and field Of view) in different Immersive Spaces; Fixed Vertical FOV (field of view) and Fixed Horizontal FOV.

Note: Both settings act identically in a Standard Immersive Space. Only in Wide Front and Wide Spaces will results vary.

    Fixed Horizontal FOV

Default Scaling mode and is recommended in most situations.

All Cameras have a 90° horizontal FOV. All surfaces will have the same Vertical FOV. Due to this in Wide or Wide Front Spaces the Vertical FOV is reduced. This limits how much can seen and has the effect of "zooming" or "cropping" into the scene. Therefore in Wide Spaces you will see less of the scene than in a Standard Space. If you are using a 360° Video Background the video may appear low resolution due to this zooming effect.

    Advantages

    • Objects will appear the same size on all Walls.

    Disadvantages.

    • Small Vertical FOV in Wide and Wide Front.

    Fixed Vertical FOV

Fixed Vertical FOV will prioritise the FOV of Centre Wall at the expense of side and back walls having a lower Vertical FOV.

The Centre Wall's Vertical FOV is calculated to match the Vertical FOV of a standard surface. If it is a Wide surface this will result in the Horizontal FOV exceeding 90°. To account for this the Virtical FOV of the side and back surfaces will be reduced.

This still results in a continuous, spanning image however due to the variations in Vertical FOV objects at the same distance will appear different sizes on different surfaces.

    Advantages

    • Centre Wall has the same "large" Vertical FOV in all Spaces.

    Disadvantages

    • All Walls have different Vertical FOVs.
    • Horizontal FOV varies in different spaces.
    • Objects appear different sizes on different surfaces.
